During my time as a Graphic Design Intern at the H-E-B Corporate Offices, I had the privilege of working on several H-E-B Curbside signage deliverables.
Curbside is an operation located at various H-E-B locations across Texas. It is designed to make getting groceries easier and hassle free. Customers can receive their orders in just three easy steps: Shop Online, Schedule and Pick Up. For more information on how it works, please visit heb.com/curbside.
The challenge with these assignments was creating environmental graphic design solutions that reflect an existing brand.

Branding, Environmental Graphic Design
The assignment was to create branded way-finding signage for in-store Curbside operations located in lease spaces. Operations located in an H-E-B lease space are often directly facing the central check-out lanes. Signage needed to be seen from all customer view points, as well as head on from the check-out lanes.
I wanted a signage presence that spanned the entire width of the headwall of the Curbside lease space. The structural support created a unique difficulty for this location, which required creative problem solving. My solution for this location was to apply the headwall with the H-E-B red, and apply a white stripe at the top. I also decided to use a disk showing the Curbside logo on it to the right of the structural support. Applying a white vinyl decal of the Curbside logo created a solution that could be screen from the checkout lanes.
The assignment was to create a branded wayfinding signage for the parking lots of all Curbside operations. This system will be used in over 100 H-E-B Curbside locations across Texas. The signage needed to be clear and easily read from customers vehicles.
Customers begin to follow the branded Curbside directional signage as soon as they enter the H-E-B parking lot. The signage needed to be clear and easily read from customers vehicles. They signs direct them to the Curbside location. A "thank you" sign greets the customers as they exit the Curbside area.
I had the privilege of creating and setting a standard for how the main exterior signage looked on over 100 H-E-B Curbside location across Texas. I developed a set of 5 various sized ID packages, that could be used from the smallest to largest Curbside operation. The packaged also included back-lit options, for areas that needed to be seen at night from major highways.
Once customers find their way to the Curbside location, they can then text to let partners know they have arrived. Partners will then deliver and load their purchased orders into their vehicles.
